Our Worthy Master Bryant Sayers has requested that I issue an East Valley Call Out for the City of Carefree Christmas Festival and Light Parade next Saturday evening.  Please wear regalia.  Please read all of the information below.  It sounds like a really fun ev

Where: Assemble at Easy Street and Nonchalant Street in Carefree. We are #3 in line in the parade.  Look for the vintage fire truck with our K of C banner (see picture below) .

When: Next Saturday evening, December 10th, 

Muster: 5:00 PM ( the Firetruck will be there at 4:30 PM).   Parade will last from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM.  Since we are almost first we will be done quickly.

Watch the weather reports.  I have worn thermals under my tuxedo in years past in other parades and been very comfortable.

The Knights are #3 in line, same as last year. The Mayor will NOT be riding on the Fire Truck. He has his own vehicle. 

We can carry Knights, etc., that are not going to march. Let me know who. 

Christmas Light Parade General Information

Event Date: December 10, 2016

Event Start Line-Up:  4:30pm


 If you are participating in the parade you must arrive to your assigned spot by 4:30 pm on Saturday( Fire Truck, all others at 5:00 P.M.)  Due to road closures, traffic and parking restrictions we need you in place early.  Judging will take place prior to the parade start.  If you wish to be judged your entry must be in place by 4:30. No exceptions!

There is extremely limited parking.  All parade entries will receive a limited amount of parking passes.  Carpooling is greatly encouraged.  Due to road closures and the safety of all parade participants If you are riding on a float you will not be able to enter any part of the parade staging area with a passenger vehicle of any kind.  Be prepared to find a parking spot elsewhere, walk to the staging area and be ready to go by 4:30pm.

Parade Route and Map

1.     Attached is a map for the parade route and staging area. Please print this map in color so that you can see where you need to be.

2.     All Parade marshals wearing easily identifiable vests and carrying flashlights will be on site to answer questions and assist you. They will direct you as the parade begins to move.

3.     The parade route moves from the line up area onto Easy Street and around to the Sundial. All participants will exit onto Sunshine Way and then east only(right) onto Cave Creek Rd.  Walking groups can return from there to the parking lot line up area to rejoin parents and drop off vehicles. Floats will proceed east bound on Cave Creek Rd then disperse. If you wish to park your float, continue along Cave Creek Rd to Bloody Basin, turn right. Proceed to Nonchalant; turn right to park along the original line up area.

The parade will begin at 6 pm and will take approximate ONE Hour

We will need Sir Knights in Regalia for the Color Guard and Honor Guard for the Light Parade. 
All Knights are asked to participate in the Parade or bring their families to watch.

MUSTER for the Honor Guard is 5:00 P.M.  I should be there around 4-4:30 P.M.
